Jon, this last table you've posted is pretty interesting. It actually sheds some light on these series. I am intrigued that Erikson's TMBotF is top-dog in the pack. I'll wager though that it is not selected by the group as a whole. No pejorative is intended, but I think this series is likely too intimidating and requires too much active participation on the part of the average reader. It really is pretty darned sophisticated. I surely would love to see it selected at some point in time though.

ReplyDeleteYes, TMBotF is a lot to take on, but at least the final book will be published this year!
The same could be said for WoT, but it wasn't nominated.
I hope to get to Deadhouse Gates sometime this year.
